Event Description

SONOMA, California (March 1, 2011) –An exhibition of the paintings of artist Lisa Sotero brings color and visual excitement to the Charles Creek Vineyard Tasting Room & Gallery in downtown Sonoma. The 60 day run of Lisa’s first Sonoma County showing begins March 1st and continues through April 30th of 2011.

A reception for the artist with wine (of course) and local cheeses will be held Saturday, March 12 from 5 to 7 PM.

Lisa is known for the use of vibrant colors in her paintings. Drawn to a variety of subjects, she is inspired to paint simple objects of everyday, the magnificent beauty of the landscapes that surround her and portraits of animals. She paints in her studio as well as “en plein air” where the coastal light is continually changing, challenging her to capture the impression of what she sees and feels. Color and light give her energy and inspiration.

Lisa has studied at the Scottsdale Artist’s School and with several well-known artists such as, Keith Wicks, Susan Diehl, Henry Stinson, Barbara Bailey-Porter, Tobin Keller and Boni Appleman.

In 1998 her life long passion for painting evolved into a profession as private collectors in the US and Europe began to acquire her works. Lisa’s work has been featured at several galleries including Scottsdale Fine Art in Scottsdale, Arizona and Options Gallery in Healdsburg, California.

Lisa is married to the Architect, Michael Sotero. They live in Capitola, California with their two children.
