Blueberry Flavored Balsamic Vinegar...
Oh, it is just so good... I couldn't even imagine what this vinegar was going to taste like, but could hardly wait to find a use, besides the obvious salad dressing ingredient. And... like all other things Charles Creek... it over delivered.
Bill Brinton, proprietor of Charles Creek Vineyards, just isn't one to sit still. I met him in 2002, when he was launching his first…

I was very lucky to have access to some fabulous Balsamic vinegars from Charles Creek Kitchen, which is located in the town of Sonoma.
I've written earlier about their
Blueberry Flavored Balsamic Vinegar. I said then, and continue to remember, how it rocked my palate.

On a fine Autumn day in Sonoma Ms. Moolot, the favorite (cork encrusted) bovine attraction at our downtown Sonoma Tasting Room, enjoyed her annual cow-wash (this suits her regal personality, bathing, as Henry VIII was said to have done, once a year "whether I need it or not..."). Maneuvering her (not manuring...) into a parking spot (2 hr limit; strictly enforced) in front of the Tasting Room, her creator (lower case; no divine cleansing here), Artist Gretchen Gardner, began the procedure.…

This is a shot of myself and Tahoe Yacht Club GM Darren Kramer at the TYC event, The Rascals Outing.
It was a "poker run" of sorts out on The Lake, with a luncheon hosted at one of the members house on the North Shore afterward. Great fun was had by all with Charles Creek Wines enjoyed by all!

A Selection of CCV Luncheon Wines...
After being introduced to our wines at the SKYE dinner in Arizona (see the Blog Post entitled "A Message...), Bill Huddleston of Sun City along with some fellow Arizonans (the Normans and Cecilia Raak) were evidently well impressed with the Charles Creek wines. When they learned about the Sonoma Wine Country Weekend Winemaker Luncheon to be held at Bill & Gerry's Sonoma Mountain homesite they elected to…

We would like to pass on the good words of a returning customer (couple) whose first visit to the CCV Tasting Room was on their honeymoon in 2007:

The Wessels & Ms. Moolot-2007

...and again in 2009
We were in the tasting room with Alan last week and promised to send our photos.
The 1st photo is from August 2007 on our Honeymoon and then us again in the same spot (my husband in…

With ties to family in Sonoma Valley, the star (and producer) of the new indie production "Weather Girl" was in town last Sunday and Monday for the film's Northern California debut. Tricia O'Kelley, who can also be seen in "The New Adventures of Old Christine" on the small screen, and her husband Adam Rosenblatt, were able to combine a visit with Adam's parents (Sonoma residents Toby and Sally Rosenblatt) with an opening at the local deco movie palace, the Sebastiani Theatre. With the senior…

For all of you sailors with reciprocal yacht club memberships, now you can enjoy our wonderful Chardonnay while taking in one of the best views on The Lake. Tahoe Yacht Club is located on the second floor in the small mall at the Tahoe City Marina. You can view the lake and watch all of the boating action from the small deck overlooking the marina.
Stop in and say "hi" to the GM, Darren and the rest of the great staff this summer!…

If some of you friends of Charles Creek Vineyard are not yet acquainted with Twitter, we'd like to invite you to check out our various past, present (and future) contributions to the art of theTweet.
While not as profound (or important, perhaps) as the use of Twitter to relay information to the world from such hot spots as post-election Iran, we feel we can bring a bit of Twitter wit (far more profound than following, say, Nicole Ritchie) to our sometimes informative Tweets.

We hosted a great local event and tasting of some wines with great ' old cars eye candy' from WCCC. We served Muy Bonito and Pinot Noir, our Pinot Grigio and Las Patolitas chardonnay to the asembled 35 classic car tourers for a little refreshment on their way to lunch at the local BBQ hangout, Blue Grass in Glen Elen.

We trailed them down there with a few more bottles in tow, the…

After an entertaining and informative class at Charles Creek Vineyard with Bill and Gerry Brinton, and Laura Matrinez of The Artisan Palate, those of us who attended have a much better understanding and appreciation of cheese.
In an earlier blog, I discussed what we had all learned about cheese that perhaps we barely, or perhaps never even, knew. That blog is entitled, Charles Creek Winery Offers a Unique Lesson in Wine and Cheese.
As a follow-up, it’s important to list…

It was a perfect Sonoma Valley of the Moon evening, as
Bill and
Gerry Brinton’s guests arrived. Jose and I were in the group last night… Everyone was eager to learn more about this important segment of food and wine, that was going be delivered in perfect union by cheese expert Laura Martinez.
I first met the Brintons in 2002. What struck me about them then, remains steadfastly true to this day; they’re an absolutely charming couple, for which only the best will do… And…

Gerry and I got drafted to pour the Jazz Plus Event Last Night. And I am glad there is a draft. We heard some great music and ran into lots of friends and met a whole lot of new folks who loved the wines we were pouring. We poured some of our favorites, Las Patolitas 2006 and the Pasiones cabernet sauvignon 2005, which is just drinking wonderfully.

Both are locally grown and are still available although…

As regular listeners of KGO radio in San Francisco already know some of the prizes offered to the sharp eared followers of Gene Burns "Dining Around" segments include VIP visits to (and bottles of wine from) specific Sonoma Valley Wineries and Tasting Rooms. One such delighted (and delightful) winner shared her feelings about the prize-winning experience she and a guest shared at the downtown Tasting Room of Charles Creek Vineyard:

Hello all!!
I thought I might share a bit about the event that we poured at last Saturday. It was in Tiburon California, and it was a wonderful event!
The day was warm, even though we were right on the Bay. About 90 degrees! But with so many good wines to choose from, folks poured in by the car load. There was a live jazz band and sooooo much good food to chose from!
Charles Creek poured three wines: 2006 Patolitas Chardonnay, 2007 En Casa Pinot Grigio, and out Pasatiempo Merlot.…

We'd like to share a nice message and some photos from a customer in Arizona to Charles Creek Sales Manager David Gast:
David,

Thanks for the great…
