We had a blast last night pouring wines for the Vinolivo event last night at the Lodge Hotel..

For the uninitiated, the term Vinolivo is a word which first off is very difficult to properly pronounce, I still cannot. I think only the creator of the word, in a focus group four years ago, dreamed up this event word that celebrates the ending of Olive and the Grape harvest and renews our commitment to next year, can properly pronounce it. I have heard many, many interpretations. Try a few ways to say it and then try a tongue twister, say it quickly 10 times. By the end, you’ll be laughing.

This event brings together just about all the wine makers and great restaurant and food purveyors of the Sonoma Valley and is organized by the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance, an organization well worthy of your support. Annually, this group, of which we are Members, supports local charities in the Valley, including one of my favorites, The Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance,

provides marketing and grape growing information to it’s members and assists with worker housing and health issues.


We caught a few of our friends milling around at the event sipping our wines and some of our wonderful Trade Partners.
